the formula for volume of a rectangular prism is L x W x H

we can replace the letters with the information given and then solve for the missing letter:

240 cm^3 = 12 x 4 x H

multiply 12 and 4:

240 = 48 x H

now to solve for H divide both sides by 48:

h = 240/48
H = 5
 the height is 5 cm
