The x intercepts are the zeros, the roots of the the equation f(x)=0.

[tex](3/5) (x^2 + 6x - 5) = 0[/tex]

[tex] x^2 + 6x - 5 = 0[/tex]

That one doesn't factor but it is amenable to the Shakespeare Quadratic Formula (2b or -2b). [tex]x^2-2bx+c[/tex] has zeros [tex]x=b \pm \sqrt{b^2-c}[/tex]

[tex]x = -3 \pm \sqrt{14}[/tex]

Those are the two x intercepts,

Answer: [tex]\quad x = -3 -\sqrt{14} \textrm{ and } x = -3 + \sqrt{14}[/tex]
