what are some viewpoints of Frederick Douglass and Captain Canot regarding slavery?

First of all Douglass was African-American, and Captain Canot was an Englishman.

Douglass experienced slavery and he didn't.

Also Douglass is speaking from what he experienced, while the Captain is speaking from what he thought happened.
