Find the value of x for the given value of y. y=4x-6; y=-20

Y=4x-6
So when y=-20...
-20=4x-6
Add 6 to both sides
-14=4x
x=-14/4=-7/2

Check:
4(-7/2)-6=
-28/2-6=
-14-6=-20

So x= -7/2
