The first step in a writing an essay is the pre-writing step. In the pre-writing stage, there are multiple parts. The first part is the planning stage. During this stage, the writer gathers information and plans out the essay- the format of the essay, the information that will be used in the essay, and the key parts of it that need to be mentioned.
