Transposing the x  variable terms on the other side, we get

3y = 15 + 2x

or, y = (15 + 2x)/ 3

or, [tex]y = \frac{2}{3}x +  \frac{15}{3}[/tex]

⇒ [tex]y = \frac{2}{3}x +  5[/tex]

Comparing this with y = mx + b, we get

m = (2/3) and b = 5
