Answer:

I find it hard to remember things that I am not personally, emotionally, or have no interest in. Maybe depending on what your trying to memorize, either academic or other, take your time and read / go over the topic. Then quiz your self on what you just covered. If you do this enough working in small sections at a time, you might be able to remember more!
