the equation to find the slope of a line is m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1). plugging in your points would be (-6 - -2)/ (-3-1). we know that subtracting a negative really means you add so the numerator becomes -6+2. this becomes -4. the denominator is -4. two negatives cancel each other out, and 4/4=1. so your slope is 1
