First, find the slope,
[tex]m= \frac{y-y_1}{x-x_1} [/tex]
[tex]m= \frac{10-2}{-6-12} [/tex]
[tex]m= -\frac{4}{9} [/tex]
Now using point slope form, pick a coordinate, I'll pick (12,2)
[tex]y-y_1=m(x-x_1)[/tex]
[tex]y-2=- \frac{4}{9} (x-12)[/tex]
[tex]y=-\frac{4 x}{9}+\frac{22}{3}[/tex]
Now, when x-intercept, 'y' will be 0,
[tex]0=-\frac{4 x}{9}+\frac{22}{3}[/tex]
[tex]x= \frac{33}{2} [/tex]
