Each of the legs are of length 4.2426 units

Solution:

Given is a right angled triangle

The figure is attached below

AC = BC

AB = 6

To find: length of each legs

Let AC = BC = x units

AB = 6 units

By Pythagoras theorem,

[tex]AB^2 =AC^2+BC^2[/tex]

Substituting the values we get,

[tex]6^2 = x^2+x^2\\\\36 = 2x^2\\\\x^2 = 18\\\\x = \sqrt{18}\\\\x = 4.2426[/tex]

Thus, length of each legs is 4.2426 units
