To graph a line you only need two points that lie on it,so take two convenient values for x and plug it into the equation to get the corresponding y for each case.For example:

if x=0 :

0 = 3y

y=0/3

y=0

Therefore,the first point on the line is (0,0)

if x=1:

1=3y

y=1/3

Therefore,the second point on the line is (1,1/3)

The line that passes between these two points is the graph of x=3y
