The area of the figure is 6 cm².

Solution:

The given image have 2 parallel side and 2 non-parallel sides.

Therefore, it is a trapezium.

Top base ([tex]b_1[/tex])= 2 cm

Bottom base ([tex]b_2[/tex]) = 4 cm

Height (h) = 2 cm

Area of the trapezium:

[tex]$A=\frac{1}{2} \times (b_1+b_2)\times h[/tex]

[tex]$A=\frac{1}{2} \times (2+4)\times 2[/tex]

[tex]$A=\frac{1}{2} \times 6\times 2[/tex]

A = 6 cm²

The area of the figure is 6 cm².
