What is the energy levels of the outer electrons in sodium???

sodium only has one valence electron meaning that there is only one electron in the outer rim. so it will go... 1st energy lvl=2 electrons. 2nd energy lvl=8 electrons. and, 3rd energy lvl=1 electron.
