4x + 2y = 20

3x - y = 10

Multiplying second equation by 2.

6x - 2y = 20

Adding to the first,

10x = 40

x = 4

y = 3x - 10 = 3(4) - 10 = 2

Answer: (4, 2)

Check:

4(4) + 2(2) = 16+4 = 20, good

3(4) - 2 = 12 - 2 = 10, good
