5(x+11)/3(x+8)

The sum of the variable (x) or in other words, the unknown number, is being added with 11 for a sum. The entirety of that is being multiplied by 5. Now, that entire product (answer to multiplication) is being divided by the sum of that same variable (x) and 8 multiplied by 3.
