Remember PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication ⇔ Division, Addition ⇔ Subtraction), which is the order you solve parts of an expression.

(7 + 5) ÷ 6 + 10²   Add 7 and 5 (Parentheses)
   12 ÷ 6 + 10²      Square 10 (10 x 10) (Exponents)
  12 ÷ 6 + 100      Divide 12 by 6 (Division)
       2 + 100        Add (Addition)
