Shadows are cast when an object blocks light. If you take a flashlight and shine it on a rock and walk around the rock, the rock's shadow will appear to move because the light source is moving. The sun is our light source.
BUT if you want to get technical, it would actually be false because the Sun is not actually moving, it just appears that way because of the Earth's rotation and orbit.
