Such factors include but may exceed the following:

  • Wind
  • Variation in water mass densities (this is caused by alterations in temperature and salinity levels)
  • Gravity
  • Earthquakes or storms

When there is movement in ocean currents, heat, nutrients, water oxygen levels are also affected.
