t² - 7 t + 6 = 0; es una ecuación de segundo grado en t. Sus raíces son: t = 6, t = 1; la segunda solución es físicamente imposible. Uno solo de ellos no puede llenar la piscina en menos tiempo que los dos juntos. Por lo tanto uno de ellos demora 6 horas y el otro 6 - 3 = 3 horas.
