Find the value of y if the arithmetic mean of 4 and 4y+2 is 11.

Answer:

4y+2 = 11  

Step 1: Subtract 2 from both sides.

4y+2−2=11−2

4y=9

Step 2: Divide both sides by 4.

4y / 4  =  9 /4
