Answer:

x + y = 3

2x + 3y = 4

Solve equation for the variable y

y = -x + 3

Plug this in for variable y in equation

2x + 3•(-x +3) = 4

-x = -5

Solve equation for the variable x

x = 5

By now we know this much :

x = 5

y = -x+3

Use the x value to solve for y

y = -(5)+3 = -2
