you just replace the x in the equation 2x - y = 5 with y + 3
you end up with this -
2(y+3) - y =5
2y +6 -y =5
Add like terms
y+6 =5
y= 5-6
y = -1
AND FOR X
x= (-1) +3
x= 2
HOPE THIS HELPS!!
