The home front consisted of mainly women children and elderly. Many women were sent out of the house where it was not publicly except-able in the US at the time and many of those women substitute many jobs that men would do like working in the factories firefighting etc. Women became the father and the mother of the families since many of the fathers of families were fighting off in Europe and Asia.
