Solve the simultaneous equations x - 5y = 0 and 15x + 10y = 17

x - 5y = 0 (1)
15x + 10y = 17 (2)

From (1),
2x - 10y = 0 (3)

(2) + (3),
17x = 17
x= 1

Sub x=1 into (1)
x - 5y = 0
- 5y = -1
y = 1/5

Therefore x = 1, y = 1/5.
