What is the surface area of a cubic box that contains a baseball that has a diameter of 3 inches? And explain why

Well I believe the surface area of the box would be 9 because diameter is the whole length of a circular or spherical object. Therefore, we would do 3 times 3 to find the area. I hope this helps!
