Let the number is = x

So number increased by 3 is = x+3.

So product of 7 and (x+3) is = 7*(x+3).

Twice of number is = 2x

So we can write

7(x+3) = 39 - 2x

7x + 21 = 39 - 2x

Now we can arrange the term as

7x + 2x = 39 - 21

9x = 18

x = 2.

SO the number is 2.
