work out the area of a triangle with a base of 8.5m and a height of 3m

The formula for area of a triangle is (1/2)*BH. 
(1/2)* 8.5*3
8.5*3= 25.5(1/2) = 12.75m squared

area of triangle =1/2 times base times height
base=8.5
heeight=3
area=1/2 times 8.5 times 3=12.75 square meters
