The predominant fiber type in the postural trunk muscles is the fast glycolytic fibers.

Fast glycolytic fibers are primarily used in anaerobic glycolysis as their ATP source. It has a large diameter and dominates a large amount of glycogen. They are used to produced rapid, forceful contractions to make quick, powerful movements.
