Martin Luther King Jr. often broke the law during his demonstrations. Kohlberg would say that King was at the conventional level of moral development. Conventional level, in this level we begin to internalize the moral standards of valued adult role models. it consists of the third and fourth stages of moral development. It is characterized by the acceptance of society's conventions regarding right and wrong.
