A ton is equivalent to 1000 pounds so:
the elephant weighs 5000 pounds
5000-570= 4430
The elephants weighs 4430 pounds more.

5 tons = 10,000 lb

10,000 lb − 570 lb = 9,430 lb = 4 tons and 1,430 lb
