Judges often try to expedite the delivery of resolutions or punishments to the parties involved. Because some cases are quite tho rny, they often have to set up a judicial precedents for similar cases should it arise in the future and for accountability. This is called an opinion. Opinion, which is usually written, contains explanations and rationale for their decisions and rulings.
