The follicle-stimulating hormone is found the pituitary gland. In women, the FSH is key in the menstrual cycle. It fluctuates throughout the different phases of the menstrual cycle and is highest at the point of ovulation, or the release of an egg. In men, the FSH significant in the production of sperm; FSH typically stays consistent in men.
