medicare is -a federal-funded health insurance program for the elderly and some persons with disabilities it's set by the CMS. medicaid is a federal-state public health insurance program for indigent (poor)-financed jointly by federal and state. SCHIP means A medical coverage source for individuals under age 19 whose parents earn too much income to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to pay for private coverage. hope this helps you.
