Their are no best types of foods to eat. The answer also depends upon your goals. Do you want to gain weight, lose weight, or maintain your weight. From their you determine what your macros should be. With that being said for an average individual you should be eating enough protein, carbs, and healthy fats. Also eat fruits and veggies, and take a good multivitamin to achieve your daily micronutrients.
