2 + 5(f + 3) expands to become:

2 + 5(f) + 5(3)
2 + 5f + 15

5f + 17 is your answer.

= 2+(5 (f+3))
= 2+(5(f) + 5 (3))
=2 + 5f + 15
= 17 + 5f
